  • 4 (6 oz) ¾-inch-thick tuna steaks, about 1 ½ lb
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup teriyaki marinade and sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper


  1. Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-high. Brush fish with oil and place on grill (wash hands); grill 1–2 minutes on each side (for medium-rare) until seared.
  2. Brush with teriyaki sauce and season with pepper.
  3. Consuming raw or under-cooked seafood may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have a medical condition. Always check fish for bones.

Sauté: Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high. Season 4 (3/4-inch-thick) tuna steaks with salt and pepper and coat with sesame seeds. Place 1 tablespoon olive oil in pan, then add tuna; cook 2–3 minutes on each side until seared and 125°F (for medium-rare).

Broil: Preheat oven to broil. Season 4 (3/4-inch-thick) tuna steaks with 1 tablespoon seafood seasoning; place on baking sheet. Broil 2–3 minutes on each side until seared and 125°F (for medium-rare).
